Kachemak Bay Quilters' December News

Potlucks, parties, and projects. Oh my! Numbers have been up for our Thursday meetings this fall, even though several people have left Homer to head south for the winter. Plus, everyone has enjoyed our gatherings and quilting projects.

In September, Elaine, our president and longtime quilters' guild member, moved to San Diego. Hence, our first potluck was to send her off and to wish her well.

In October, we had another potluck and costume party for Halloween. At that party, we donated more than a dozen lap-sized quilts to Homer Hospice.

On Veterans' Day, our members presented quilts of valor to several veterans at the Elks Club, honoring their service to our country.

In the meantime, Christmas projects and presents, and service quilts for fire victims have been flying off our needles. Karrie donated her time long-arm quilting the service quilts before heading south for the winter.

Thanks to all of you who participate in our meetings and who make those parties fun. And thanks to everyone who has donated time, materials, and skills to give cozy quilts to those in need.
