Greetings!
What a wonderful time of year! The cranes are back and so are the tourists and cruise ships. My husband has started his weekly lawn mowing and my flowers and rhubarb are really growing. I know many are welcoming, visiting family and friends and planning vacations themselves. The weeds are growing along with fruits and vegetables, and the weekly Farmers’ Market is ready to open.
Exciting things are happening with the Guild too. This summer’s classes are filling up, but there are still a few open spots. Look at the education section for more details. And speaking of the education committee, they are looking at some really exciting teachers for 2026 and 2027. Can’t wait to hear their choices!!
There is also the Alaska Shop Hop happening all over Alaska and the Quilt Walk that is happening now in Kenai and Soldotna.
Homer is hosting some from the Quilt Folk magazine and going to be appearing in an upcoming publication. WOW!! I’m sure we will hear more about their visit in upcoming communications.
Our Retreat is scheduled for February 20-22, 2026, with the Quarterdeck available starting Wednesday the 18th. A block of rooms has been set aside for us, and I learned recently that booking sooner than later really does get a cheaper room rate. Think about it!
Enjoy your summertime activities and keep quilting!!
