Presidents Report

Greetings!
In Homer, the fireweed blossoms are at the top, the cranes are gathering before heading south, school has started, and its fair time in Palmer! I guess that means summer is pretty much over and fall and more guild activities are headed our way.
We start with our general membership meeting at 10 A.M. on Saturday, October 5. Business includes renewing annual memberships and signing up for the February retreat. We are asking all members to complete the updated membership form this year. In addition to the regular Show and Share, we’ll have a special showing of the red and white quilts we were challenged to make.  Please bring yours, quilted or not! And remember we always have a great time catching up with each other as we share a fabulous potluck!!
Getting Ready for Christmas with three new projects will be October 26. I’m not quite ready to think about Christmas though as I’m still trying to get berries picked and jam made. I will hopefully be ready by then.
Of course, retreat is scheduled for February and Jan and Sharon will have more about that later in this newsletter.
I’ve heard wonderful things about the classes that were offered this summer and know the education committee has more planned for 2025.
Looking forward to seeing you all at upcoming events.
Carol
