Our winter has been filled with many hours of sewing and friendship every Tuesday and every other Sunday. We have shared several great retreats at the Seward Resort and have another one coming up the middle of March. Our little Seward Area Quilters group has many quilting friends who join us for our retreats, several come from Wasilla / Palmer, Anchorage, Valdez, Hope and the “other” side of the Peninsula. It is always wonderful to share our sewing and quilting days with all of these gals.
Our community projects continue to keep us busy. Our project to honor all of our local Veterans has been expanded. Mid – February we honored the veterans in the community of Hope with beautiful Red, White & Blue Veteran Quilts. Our “Senior/Community” quilt project continues to present beautiful quilts to members of the community. We will be presenting the 40 residents of Seward Mountain Heaven with lap quilts this spring.
