Well, here it is almost “Alaskan” spring. Our very cold temps and the strong winds of late sure make us wonder if the piles of snow will ever go away.
We had our annual January Retreat at the Seward Resort and we were once again blessed to have Cathy and Lily from the “other” side of the Peninsula join us. It was an extremely wild, snowy and cold weekend with many of the gals sewing with stocking caps, heavy coats and gloves on. With the temps below zero and the gale force winds blowing we couldn’t get the sewing room warmed up. But it didn’t stop any of us from having a wonderful time with lots of laughs and great food.
Our Veteran and Seniors community projects continue to keep us busy making tops, quilting and presenting. We have been very lucky this winter and not had any local house fires, until today. We will be gathering quilts for the family that lost their house in a fire earlier today.
With our great community support, we have two beautiful areas to sew. We get together every Tuesday and every other Sunday.
Hope to see many of you at the April meeting in Soldotna. Happy Quilting Everyone!
