Seward News

As I sit here gathering my thoughts for the newsletter, the sun is shining and TV news gal just stated that Seward was the hot spot for the State today, 72°.  While like the rest of the Peninsula, Seward has had very, very little in the way of sun and summer this year.  The leaves have already started to turn and are blowing around like crazy.  I am reasonably sure it is the middle of August and not September.  Very strange and different summer this year.  But there is one good thing about a cool and very wet summer, we have had more time to be in the house sewing.

Our ongoing project of honoring all our Seward area Veterans continues. We have honored 225 local Veterans with beautiful Red, White and Blue quilts.  We are just getting started with a new community project.  Seward Area Quilters is working with the Seward Senior Center to provide a beautiful lap quilt to each and every home bond senior in the area. This will be an on-going project for the next couple of years.

We will soon be starting our winter quilting get-togethers, where we will kick off our “Dogs in Sweaters” sew-along and continue our community quilting projects.

Hope to see many of you at the October guild
