Spring may have arrived late this year, but for the Kachemak Bay Quilters, a heartfelt spring arrived on April 20 (see picture). We were busy making heart blocks for comfort quilts on the very day that Patrice Krant walked into the room. She was able to join us again after 14 months in Portland receiving and recovering from a heart transplant. What a way to kick off spring!

We also enjoyed catching up with returnees and snowbirds and hearing everyone's stories. The group has grown to an average of sixteen each week.

We greatly enjoyed the Mother's Day Quilt show, put on by the Lion's Club. Our group's raffle quilt won best in show, and we still have tickets available for the raffle which will take place in September. If you want to buy tickets, you can contact any of our members.
