Retreat Update

By Sue Magyar

Greetings Fellow Quilters,

First, let me say Kathleen and I appreciate all your kind words concerning this year's retreat at Land's End. We have been in communication with Land's End Event Coordinator concerning several subjects; from a review of last year's retreat, the implementation of some menu changes, and the securing in advance our block of rooms for the 2027 retreat. The dates for our next Kenai Peninsula Quilting Retreat are February 19 through February 21. As you are reading this newsletter, the block of rooms should be available for reservations for our February 2027 retreat. The earlier you make your reservation for next year's retreat will ensure you get the accommodation you prefer.

We’ve selected a fun, detailed mystery quilt and there will be a couple of different sizes available. This pattern comes to you from a quilter from New Zealand who is well known for her eclectic quilt patterns! The pattern makes a 90” x 108” quilt or a half-size quilt. More on that in the next newsletter. Our testers are working hard to make sure all the fabric requirements and cutting instructions are clear. Included will be a list of suggestions, which are always appreciated.

Hats off to Dana Lewis for this year's tee shirt design! Dana's on our radar again for next year's design. If you wish to order a tee shirt, make sure to do so on your registration form as there is no late ordering.

Thanks everyone who graciously pitched in and "modeled" our aprons, danced to the music, and demo'ed the "can can" at the end. You were all a HOOT!

Wishing you Sunshine

&

Happy Quilting,

Sue
