President's Report

Seasons’ Greetings!
It’s that time of year with so much to look forward to. Have you been to any of the craft shows and bazaars yet? Besides the hustle and bustle and seeing friends, I enjoy seeing the wares. So many new ideas and fresh takes on some of the tried and true. Very inspiring!

I hope you’ll also be inspired to participate in our new guild wide challenge that Sharon will be unveiling a little further on in the newsletter. Keep reading!! So many participated and had fun with the red and white quilt challenge that we decided to do another with a different theme.

It was great seeing so many displayed at our guild meeting and then again at the Kenai River Quilt and Wearable Arts Show in Nikiski. Next year’s show will be July 24-25, 2026, and we’ll be showing our new challenge there too. We have also been invited to have a guild member demonstrate a sewing skill at the show. In 2025 the demos were hex squares, 3D turtles, and hand/lap quilting. The volunteer/sewist would demonstrate for two hours with visitors looking on and asking questions. If this is something that interests you, contact by phone or text Rose Pilatti (907)513-1490. They would like to have the volunteer by January.

In the new year besides new sewing projects to look forward to we have our retreat in February, the block challenge (theme- twisted) due in April, our new guild quilt challenge and some real exciting classes for the summer.

Enjoy your sewing and holidays!
