Your Education Committee is looking for suggestions from all of you about the classes that you would like to see the Guild sponsor. Your Education Committee is Lorraine Murphy and Kris Rutledge from Homer; Kathleen Barkley, Donna Glenz, and Sue Magyar from Seward; Cathy Howlett and me from Central Peninsula. Of course, our President Heather Johnston can join us at any of our meetings. If you know of good teachers or classes, please let one of us know.
The good news is that Pam Ventgen was able to move her class for next year to this year. Her class “Light Breeze” is scheduled for August 5 & 6 at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. The cost is $70 for the 2-day class. At this point we do have the minimum number of people signed up and paid, thanks to everyone who has responded. There is room in class for more people. If you are interested, please email me at Bsteckel@aol.com and get your check in the mail payable to KPQG and mailed to me at P O Box 1027, Sterling, AK 99672. When your check is received you will receive the supply list. Pam’s classes are always fun and she is a great teacher.
There is a possibility that we will be offering Nancy Mathew’s class the last week of August. We will be presenting it to the Board at the June Board Meeting. If the class is approved, we will get the information out to all of you as soon as possible. The Committee is also looking at the possibility of some one-day classes. Again, your suggestions and ideas are welcome. Getting Ready for the Holidays has been scheduled for October 29, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church. Mark your calendars for a fun day that will hopefully provide you with ideas for gifts.
