This summer has been busy as usual for our quilters, with gardening, fishing, hosting visitors, travel, and home repairs. We also enjoyed visiting the Kenai Quilt show in Nikiski in July, where several from our group entered quilts, and Piama taught about fabric design and showed her fabrics.
Our outreach to the community continues. We donated quilts to a family of five who lost their home in a fire in June, and another one in August. Also, we donated a quilt to the food pantry’s silent auction fundraiser.
Coming up: Kris Rutledge (who taught the wolf and flower paper piecing class in Soldotna last September) will teach a paper piecing class in Homer on October 24th and 25th at the Kachemak Center, located east of Homer near Tire Town. Please contact Kris for more details if you are interested.
