From the President

Greetings! What a wonderful time of the year! Homer’s sunrises and sunsets have been almost indescribable in the colors and brightness and minute by minute changing.  I’m hearing the Northern Lights are also thrilling - I haven’t been lucky enough to catch them in awhile.

This year I purchased another Christmas Box where you open one package a day from December first to the twenty-fifth.  It’s surprising how well I have gotten along without many of the surprises, but sure am finding many of them really useful.

This past Monday several of our Homer quilting group gathered to celebrate Glenda’s 90th birthday. Laughter, stories and many memories were shared as we enjoyed delicious carrot cake muffins and each other’s company.  We have been blessed with knowing so many amazing women from across the Peninsula for many, many years. Thursday, we laughed with memories of many of them and some of their antics. It was wonderful!!

I’m sure many of you are busy getting projects completed for holiday giving, making exchange blocks for the retreat, and, in Homer, welcoming new grandchildren and great grands. We have been enjoying the good weather and the fellowship of so many on Thursdays and are looking forward to our holiday potluck/party coming up in a couple of weeks.

The excitement for the upcoming retreat keeps growing and we have several newbies planning to be there this year. I know Jan and Sharon have been working hard on the planning.

Enjoy family and friends this holiday season. I feel blessed to know all of you and keep learning and making memories together.
