Since 2000, KPQG has been involved with the Kenai Peninsula State Fair in Ninilchik. We have registered, collected, hung, done narration several times a day during the fair and taken down and returned quilts to their owners. Our members have been wonderful in volunteering for these jobs and providing an enjoyable experience to visitors at the fair.
This last August, one of our members was seriously injured due to the Kenai Peninsula State Fair's failure to correctly install supports from which the quilts are hung. The Kenai Peninsula State Fair's insurance company has so far refused to cover medical expenses for the injured party.
For this reason, KPQG's executive board has passed the following:
" Motion recommends that KPQG withdraws from the coordination of the quilt exhibit at the Kenai Peninsula State Fair."
This issue will be discussed at the Annual meeting on April 11 at 10:00 at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. I am looking forward to seeing you there.
