Vice President and Education Committee Report

The education committee is having fun looking for new learning opportunities for our membership.   
I am excited to announce that we are bringing Diana Bradley from Anchorage down on April 4th.  She will be doing a three-hour lecture on picking fabric and color for quilt projects.  Diana was the owner of Quilt Zone in Anchorage.  This is a free class to all our membership and will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM after our General Membership meeting.  I hope you all will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.   
The classes for the summer of 2020 are as follows. Barb Steckel, Jun 26th and 27th.  The class is Scrap Crazy and is $65.  Currently the class is full but please contact me if you want to be on the waiting list. 
Brenda Clyde, July 24th and 25th. The project is Jokers Wild. Cost will be $75 plus cost of pattern.  This quilt includes strip and paper piecing.   
Dana Lewis, August 14th and 15th.  The class will be Chic Sisters using the Quick Curve Ruler on day one and on day two she will be teaching Scalloped Borders for those who want to learn this technique.   I have looked at some of the other quilts made with this ruler and I am looking forward to learning this new technic.   
Classes for 2021 
Katie Pedersen, she is a nationally known modern quilter and I am very excited that we were able to book her.  Here is her website so you can see what she is all about. Class is June 4th and 5th; project is yet to be determined; cost is estimated at $95.  
Pam Ventgen will be teaching in July 9th and 10th.  The cost of the class is $75 plus cost of the pattern and templates.  She will be teaching the Alaska quilt by Laundry Basket quilts. 
Mark Sherman, is an international teacher who is known for his Art quilts.  He specializes in machine applique and painted applique.  Here is his website His class is scheduled for August 6th and 7th.  The cost for the 2-day work show is estimated at $28 plus of class kits, approximately $95 but you will have everything you need for the classes.   
There is lots of room in Brenda and Dana’s class so if you want to sign up for their classes please call me to be put on the list.  I will need payment right away to save your spot.   
It is never too early to sign up for a class even next years classes in 2021.  I already have several people signed up for them.
