Seward Quilting News

It was a sad day when we pulled away from Land’s End after the 2015 retreat.  We just hate to say goodbye to all our friends, all that laughing, sewing, shopping, eating, etc. and head back to reality.  There are other opportunities coming up for mini retreats or get-togethers and we’ll be taking advantage of those.  Many of the Seward gals are going to be at our March retreat at Seward Resort.  It’s a much smaller scale, and a potluck, but we do alright anyway.  Also, a few of us will be back in Homer in April for Open Sew.  There are several classes, Block of the Month, and other opportunities to learn.  We’re not slacking off as far as baby quilts go either.  PJ Bauer has let me know that we’re still expecting an average of one baby a week in this area.  We came through a pretty dense patch of babies in November and they’re still arriving,  Tammy Nicolas put together an easy but dramatic pattern and several gals met to put baby quilts together.  One weekend day this month there’s a plan for another day of baby quilt making.  We have a new sewing area. Donna Glenz has put much time and effort to get the basement of the old library livable and cozy for the quilters.  Other than that, we’re looking forward to the fun classes ahead of us both locally and sponsored by the Guild.  Let the good times roll!
