Seward News

We’ve had a fairly busy winter. Currently 36 baby welcome wagon quilts on hand, 6 dog beds waiting to be delivered, working on building up a supply of quilts for Mountain Haven nursing home, etc.

The fun things people are doing are Lisa Hartman’s swans, finishing Bonnie Hunter mysteries (Good Fortune or On Ringo Lake, or back farther!!), trying to get a fresh start on our UFO’s pending, and join together in a plan to finish, and following Gudrun Erla and joining in on her Quilt A Longs. Very fun stuff! Heather is our leader on UFO’s, encouraging us, and keeping us updated on how many have been finished so far. Also, letting us know we have “X” number of days before this deadline or that!!! It’s not an easy job, probably similar to herding cats, but Heather is doing a great job, resulting in some VERY OLD UFO’s coming out into the daylight!

There have been some donations to Quilts for Heroes from this area, and we’re going to be keeping that at the front of our minds going forward.

We’ve been asked to do quilts for the new apartments for the hospital. We’ll have a pattern & fabric ready to go on March 3rd Sunday Sew. Should knock out all 4 tops…many hands make light work.

Sheila has a list of classes planned for March and April (including an appliqué class taught by our Deb!!). Also we have a retreat at Seward Resort at the end of March. Wow. Then onward to new shiny baubles (aka fabric)!

Fun fun!!
