At this writing, I'm looking out the window at snow. We are coming off a couple of gloriously sunny days, where everyone in town was out walking their dogs, having a wonderful pre-spring break. People's perennials are even coming up! It is only March.
Prior to retreat, several of us from Seward were able to attend Road 2 California, and some of us took classes. What a wonderful experience! Hopefully we'll all have something for Show 'n Share at the Annual Meeting in April. There was also a quilt show in Phoenix at the end of January that a few attended. There are all kinds of fun things out there to see!
We all had a great time at retreat (even though eight or nine of us limped home with a cold or flu bug). Most of us are recovered from that by now. The good retreat feelings stick with us, so that we remember the good times (the t-shirt fashion show, the bra blocks, the mystery), and any negatives fade to the background. It was so great to be in Homer with all our quilting friends! We're already thinking about 2017.
Seward has a retreat coming up the end of March at Seward Resort. We are looking forward to another long weekend of shoving fabric under a needle, visiting, eating, laughing, eating...
PJ Bauer told me that the number of babies for 2016 in the Seward and surrounding areas was 85. That's quite a large number for little Seward, including Cooper Landing, Moose Pass and Hope. The Baby Welcome Wagon quilts are still coming, and there are more groups in Seward who are enjoying making contributions. These quilts are very much appreciated.
As for the quilting group, we're healing up and getting back in the groove. Is your travel bag unpacked and everything put away? Me neither!
Happy Spring to our quilt sisters and brothers!
