Seward News

Even though the weather outside is frightful (at this writing), all our thoughts have been turned inside to our fabric and what we can do to create new things. It was so inspiring to get together at Getting Ready for Christmas in Soldotna. Great day, really great projects, and good company. Thanks to all who participated, and thank you to you gals who supplied our lunch. VERY good! Seward has been so inspired with these Christmas ideas, that there was a get together this last Sunday in the basement of the old library. It was a very fun filled day of visiting, drinking coffee, catching up, and sewing on Christmas projects, some of which were from GRFC earlier.

With Donna returning to a modicum of health, the old library will again be the site for Wednesday night quilting. Donna worked so hard to get it set up and cozy, so it’s very good to be back in the swing again. Those who would rather sew during the day can still go to Sew’n Bee Cozy.

Our friend Pam Ventgen will be teaching a Storm at Sea class this weekend at the fabric shop. This is one that she taught at retreat several years ago, using special rulers. This ought to be much fun and a good refresher for those of us who need reinforcement!

Coming up on Thanksgiving, there is so much to be thankful for. Besides our families and good quilting friends, there’s the Bonnie Hunter mystery beginning the Friday after Turkey day. Several of you will be doing that. This year I’ve got too many projects going, but I will save the steps on my computer. Once she takes the instructions down in the spring, they’re gone.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday. If we don’t see you before, see you in Homer at the 20th KPQG Retreat!
