Kachemak News

Kachemak Bay Quilters are working on our blocks, “Bears and Berries,” for the Pratt Museum raffle quilt. Stay tuned as these blocks become the finished quilt that will hang in the entryway of the Pratt this summer and fall.  Raffle drawing for the 2013 quilt will be the first part of December. Our snowbirds have left for sunnier (warmer) winter weather.  Little did they know that fall is lingering in Homer.  No snow yet (as of mid-November).

Carol Renfrew taught us a Thanksgiving project, “Grand Gobbler.”  We used felt to trace the turkey parts then stuffed it with polyester stuffing.  We blanket stitched it all together.  Carol’s sister was the inspiration for the turkey pattern.

Our service quilt supply is growing.  We’re binding and labeling lots of different sizes of quilts.
