We've had a great summer here in Homer. We've been, gardening, fishing, enjoying the sunshine (lots of it), and entertaining visitors galore. We never know how many quilters will show up for our Thursday get-togethers. It can be anywhere from 7 to 20, depending on who is in town or drops by when visiting Homer. Kachemak Community Center can be a little tight but there is always room for everyone.
We've given out three quilts to fire victims this summer. Fortunately we've built up a surplus at this time and also have a dry place to store the extra quilts.
Some of us have taken advantage of classes offered this summer. We enjoyed the May embellishment class taught by Kate Beebe, which was offered by the Guild. Many of our group also attended classes from Kodiak to Sisters to Valdez, as well as our annual fall retreat to Tern Lake.
Many Homer quilters entered quilts and/or wall hangings in the Fair. What a great display!
See you at the Guild meeting in October.
