Kachemak Bay Quilters are staying busy as we head into the fall and winter seasons. We celebrated 25 years as “Kachemak Bay Quilters” with a mid-October potluck. As always, great food – lots of it – and the opportunity to visit with quilters that we may not have seen all summer.
Fortunately, we have not had to distribute any quilts to fire victims lately. Knock on wood, this will continue. We are also donating quilts to Haven House, our local residence for victims of domestic violence. We are sharing teddy bear quilts, too. These are small quilts, which accompany each teddy bear given to a child staying at Haven House.
We've been hard at work making a variety of silent auction items for our Mother's Day quilt show. We're also creating blocks for the Pratt Museum quilt. The theme for the 2015 raffle quilt is "Kachemak Bay," any aspect of the bay. Can't wait to see this year's creation!
