Events in the Central Peninsula Fall 2018:

Sew Delicious: an Art Quilt Show about Food” by five fiber friends will be on display September and October at the Kenai Visitors Center. The opening is Sept. 7, 2018. Along with the many pieces focusing on various aspects of food, there will also be a large collaborative piece done by all five artists and many little ditties to celebrate dining many different ways! There will be self-portraits and special giveaway items at the opening. The show has been in the works for two summers and has a lot of humor. Make this part of a road trip and enjoy the fun.

The Fireweed FiberFest will be September 29 – 30 at the Soldotna Sports Center from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. The primary goal of this event is to bring together the best of fiber arts and fiber agriculture and promote awareness to everyone about the fiber industry in Alaska. There will be vendors, classes, and exhibits. Demonstrations include dyeing, spinning, weaving, basket making, and needle felting. Check out their website for specifics.
